Obama Uses The White House Website To Slam Bush

Obama's new White House website takes a parting shot at Bush. Very classy Obama...you're off  to an impressive start. I expected more tact and grace from you after being President for only a few hours. Well, what can you expect...he's a politician...just like all the others. So much for moving forward. *yawn*

From the official White House site:

President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.

President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration's "unconscionable ineptitude" in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims. Obama visited thousands of Hurricane survivors in the Houston Convention Center and later took three more trips to the region. He worked with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce legislation to address the immediate income, employment, business, and housing needs of Gulf Coast communities.

Obama Plays The RaceCard....Again

From American Thinker:

Obama campaign stoking racial hatred

What follows is definitive proof that much of America is poised to elect a divisive, juvenile, and deceitful candidate for president.  In the Friday, Sept. 19 edition of the Wall Street Journal Rush Limbaugh exposes a frightening example of the Obama campaign's willingness to stoke racial antagonisms and treat Hispanic voters like dupes in the process.

Rush informs us in his essay that the Obama campaign has been circulating a commercial on Spanish-language television that includes the following message to Hispanic voters:

"They want us to forget the insults we've put up with . . . the intolerance . . . they made us feel marginalized in this country we love so much."

Immediately after this wonderful attempt to create racial unity the Obama commercial highlights two quotations from Rush:
"... stupid and unskilled Mexicans. . ."

"You shut your mouth or you get out!"

It turns out however that both of these quotations were taken deceitfully out of context.  In the first quotation, Rush was mocking, back in 1993, the arguments against NAFTA.  Rush was assuming the collective voice of the anti-NAFTA crowd and showing how many of their arguments were, in Rush's words, "demeaning workers, particularly low-skilled workers."

In the second quotation, Rush was criticizing the Mexican government's double standard concerning their border control policies: extreme restrictions and controls on their southern border with Guatemala but pushing an open borders policy with their northern neighbor America.  In short, Rush said, from the Mexican government's perspective if you're a foreigner in Mexico and you want Bill of Rights style freedoms "you shut your mouth or get out!"

To pull off such a vindictive and adolescent fraud like this the Obama campaign had to assume that the "typical" Hispanic voter couldn't reason or think critically.  If anything is "typical" here it is that "Mr. Unity" and his followers are as contemptuous of the common working man and woman as all elites have been, past and present.

Asian-Americans Support John McCain

From Asian-Americans For Mccain:
Close to a hundred of volunteers at McCain campaign Northern Virginia headquarters were busy making calls to voters or preparing to go door-to-door Saturday afternoon when the Senator and his wife emerged from meetings with senior campaign staff to greet volunteers. The Senator thanked each volunteer individually beginning with a group of Asian-Americans for McCain volunteers, and wrapped up his visit by returning to our group composing of Vietnamese-Americans for McCain Coalition State and National Co-Chairs to share a discussion and to offer a group picture. Sen. McCain exclaimed, “Let’s take a picture with my Vietnamese-American friends.” He also sent his greetings to the APA community for the Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on the following day.

My Thoughts On The First Presidential Debate

Like many other Americans, I watched the first Presidential debates on television the other night. Here are my initial thoughts.

1: I thought it was disrespectful that BarackObama kept referring to John McCain as "John". By not calling him Senator McCain, (like McCain called him Senator Obama), it was obvious that Obama was attempting to make McCain appear less than he was. It made Obama look foolish and immature. It also showed me that Obama is taking this very personally, while McCain views this as about the campaign, not himself.

2: Obama said "John is right" about eight times. I'm not sure what the strategy was there. Maybe he was trying to show McCains supporters that there's not much difference in their policies but I think that could backfire on him. I think the only way either of them will win is to show their differences. Or maybe, he has no idea what he's doing.

3: To me, Obama appeared to be playing the role of someone in a debate. Almost like acting. I know that he spent the last three days rehearsing and practicing but I think he over did it and wasn't natural enough. I half expected to see credits rolling at the end that said "Inexperienced candidate played by Barack Obama:.

4: McCain was well versed and in control on foreign affairs (except for the stumble with the Iran leaders name) and Obama was lost. Totally lost.

5: Obama is not aging well. He looks like he's aged 10 years in the last few months.

6: I felt that Obama relied on "what he wants to do" and "what he's going to do", but didn't have enough past record or experience to back it up. McCain spoke equally about "what he has done (his record)" and "what he wants to do in the future".

7: Last but not least.....what the hell was Obama thinking when he said "I got a bracelet also". Good god!! He sounded like he was six years old!! And then he continued to embarrass himself by not remembering the name of the fallen soldier who was on it. When he makes comments like that, he shows immaturity. Like a couple of weeks ago when he told his supporters (a crowd of 1,500) to "get in their faces and argue with them" (them=people not voting for Obama). He's not running for class president and he needs to assure those undecided that he's mature enough to handle this job.

That's my take on the festivities. :blue
